Happy Spring Festival-2025

The Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, is the most significant traditional holiday in China. It marks the beginning of the lunar new year, which is based on the lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar.

It falls on the first day of the first lunar month, usually between late January and mid-February. In 2025, it begins on January 29. It's a time for family reunions, celebration, and honoring traditions. The festival is deeply rooted in Chinese culture, symbolizing new beginnings, good luck, and prosperity.

Reunion Dinner: Families gather on New Year’s Eve for a large feast, featuring dishes like dumplings, fish (symbolizing surplus), and rice cakes (symbolizing higher success).
Red Decorations: Homes are decorated with red lanterns, couplets, and papercuts to ward off bad luck.
Red Envelopes : Elders give money in red envelopes to children and unmarried adults as a symbol of blessing and good fortune.
Fireworks: Loud firecrackers and fireworks are set off to drive away evil spirits.
Lion and Dragon Dances: Performances bring luck and prosperity to communities.

Beyond China, it's celebrated in many Asian countries and by Chinese communities worldwide, making it a global event. Activities include travel (the largest annual human migration), shopping festivals, and cultural showcases.
